PT. Geely Car Indonesia officially launched the two main models to the automotive market in Indonesia Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Both cars Geely MK MK2 sedan and hatchback are assembled in CKD (Completely Knock Down) at Astra car factory (PT Gaya Motor - Sunter). And for the first phase, PT. Gaya Motor currently has 180 units of spare parts to assemble CKD Geely Sedan and Hatchback.
Geely became the fourth Chinese auto maker, Chery points after Indomobil as sole distributor for the national car market by the year 2007, after the Greatwall (Indomobil) and Photon (Indomobil and Modern Group). Actually, the principle in Shanghai Geely pointed Indonesia became the first country outside China to produce Geely in CKD are marketed not only for Indonesia but also for ASEAN countries, Australia and New Zealand.
Indonesia Geely hopes to sell 100 units of cars per month or 1200 units in 2010. And to continue to increase market penetration, Geely will also launch Geely Panda city car that has two engine options in 1000 cc and 1300 cc. In addition, they also will introduce a new MPV in 2010.

Geely car launch
China car, Geely International Corp. through a sole distributor in Indonesia that Indonesia PT Geely Motor plans to launch sedan Geely MK-2 on Dec 16, 2009. Geely sedan is imported by China in the form of CKD (Completely Knock Down) and then assembling in PT. Gaya Motor (a subsidiary of Astra) in Sunter Jakarta, will sell at a price of about Rp. 100 million ($ 10K).
PT Geely Motor Indonesia claimed that he has the data requests and orders from customers in Indonesia. Through the dealer network that has, Geely plans to open a sales network in Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Sumatra, Bali and Kalimantan. But for the early stages, Geely sedan MK-2 is only going to market in Java and Bali.
Geely sedan MK-2 is a mini sedan with a 1.500 cc engine, 16 valves DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft), Multi Point Injection (MPI) and capable of producing 94 horsepower at 6000 rpm. While the machine can also achieve a maximum torque of 128 Nm at 3400 rpm. Geely sedan dimensions MK-2 is the length of 4152 mm, width 1680 mm and 1440 mm high. Chinese cars are already equipped Airbag, ABS (filling Brake System), Safety Belt, and suspension comfort.
